Southwestern Styled Wedding at Tumbleweed Sanctuary, Joshua Tree
There’s nothing quite like Joshua Tree at golden hour. The moody and romantic light plays perfectly with the rustic and barren landscape of the desert, it’s no wonder it’s our most popular shootout location!
In our most recent shootout, we hosted 15 photographers at the Tumbleweed Sanctuary in Joshua Tree, an event that sold out two months prior! Attendees were a mix of newbies and seasoned photographers making the trip from all over the country (even as far as Seattle and Oregon.)
Unfortunately, on the day we were treated to 30mph wind, which is by no means ideal weather conditions for a wedding shootout! However, our photographers and team worked with the wind to deliver some pretty spectacular shots. This was a great lesson for our newbies because you can never control what the weather will be like on the wedding day, but you still need to deliver amazing photos to your clients no matter what.
For this shoot, we partnered with the best vendors in California and we think they deserve a shout out!
Hair & Makeup
The incredibly talented team at Veiled Vanity Artistry made some day-of changes to our gorgeous bride’s hair and makeup due to this change in weather. The team always stick around for the entire shootout to ensure our models are looking great all afternoon. We think they couldn’t have looked more flawless!
Dried flowers are this year’s biggest floristry trend, and the team at Love Sparrows delivered a stunning collection of dried natives, grasses, fronds and blooms that helped give our shootout the vintage, boho vibe we were looking for.
Invitations & Paper Goods
Our shootouts even include the finer details like stationery, invitations and menus which all perfectly reflect the theme. We’re lucky to work so closely with DC Media Design to create paper goods that add the special finishing touches to a professional shoot.
The ever creative, Mz Villa Bakes delivered an Aztec inspired cake that was out of this world! Playing with texture, color and form, this cake was the showstopping centerpiece for our shoot.
With access to the entire range in Anthropologie’s BHLDN cataloge, we got to choose the most exquisite gown for our bride that complimented our backdrop and theme. This bohemian beauty is made from dreamy lace with a stunning plunging neckline, romantic bell sleeves and lace-up detail at the back.
